Pilina's Story

"One fine day Pilina was born.

She was just as small as any other new-born baby, but she had hair longer than any other baby in the world.

“Cut her hair!” everybody said, but her parents didn't want to, and so Pilina grew up.

Her hair was very very long, and it waved in the wind, full of butterflies, leaves and flowers.

One day Pilina came to the big city. “Too much hair!” said the guards, and they wanted to cut it, but then Prince Tristano asked her: “Do you want to play?”.

They made hundreds of plaits, and tied a kite to each one. Nobody wanted to cut her hair after that. One day Pilina..."

The simple and timeless tale of growing up.

A simple and poetic story: the tender and playful dialogue between a little toucan and his mother

Once upon a time there was a curious little toucan. One day he asked his mother...

“ If I was a cloud, what would you be?” 

 “I would be the wind,” she replied “to ruffle your feathers.”

“And if I was a snake?” “I'd be the branch that makes you play.”

“And if I was a waterfall?” “I'd be the stone that makes you sing.” 

“And if I was a tiger?” “I'd be the fly, buzzing around your nose.”

“And if I was a tree, what would you be?” 

“I'd be the rain, that makes you grow up.”

“And if I was a banana?” 

“I'd be the sun, that makes you ripens.”

“And if I was a black panther?” 

“I'd be the night, so I could hold you.”

This book wants to create a new original language for children who usually live among tired and self-absorbed adults.
A sort of “children slang” aimed to take fun and complicity to children.
This tale is written in Piripù language: the ancient language of the actors, the language they used to speak in their performances all around the world. This is the old game where you make up “voices”, open your eyes as widest as you can and sigh. It’s about the magic to go over the words sound.
